Speeds for given vessel

Bij een waterverplaatsende rompvorm (een romp die dieper ligt dan een planerende romp) is de lengte van het vaartuig een grotere factor in de mate waarin het vaartuig zich door het water kan verplaatsen. Er geldt: hoe langer het vaartuig is, hoe sneller men kan varen bij hetzelfde vermogen.

Economische snelheid is een goede balans van snelheid en energieverbruik. Er dient rekening mee te worden gehouden dat, bij hard(er) varen, het energieverbruik exponentieel toeneemt (door de aard van de rompvorm). Afhankelijk van vaartijd kan er dan een stuk meer accucapaciteit benodigd zijn.

Lead-Acid batteriesare widely used due to the attractive energy/cost ratio. These batteries have a lower energy density compared to lithium-ion batteries, which results in more weight and volume for the same amount of energy. If volume and weight aren't big considerations, then lead-acid batteries are an excellent option.

Gel batteries don't have a fluid as an electrolyte like lead-acid batteries, thus are, among other things, maintenance-free and safer in use due to lack of Hydrogen gas discharge. Gel batteries weigh a bit more than lead-acid batteries.

Lithium-Ion batteries outshine other options when it comes to energy density. They can be charged faster and more often. Lithium-Ion batteries weigh almost two-thirds less than lead-acid and gel batteries. The ideal option if weight savings and longevity are paramount.
